Chickweed

Chickweed's original name was given because this ubiquitous plant's seeds were used for birdseed. Chickweed was an original native of Europe and is now a global weed, blooming everywhere as early as March and continues to flower through the summer. Stellaria, the Latin name, comes from the star like shape of its exquisite star like white flowers. The small green Chickweed plant is a small low growing small leafed woody plant whose flowers open on sunny days but in cloudy or rainy weather the petals of the white flower will close as if it has gone to sleep.

Chickweed has been used as a medicinal herb for many centuries in folk a substance used in managing discofort with its uses ranging from Enhanceing Problem due to narrowing of air passage conditions and digestive problems to skin problems. Some say it will favorably effect any illness and chickweed can surprise the user who took it for one Subjective feeling and then noting an improvement in another.

Chickweed Typical Dosage

Chickweed can be taken as tablets and capsules of approximately 375mg. Most commonly taken 2 to 3 times daily. Externally a salve can be made from the fresh herb using a strong extract and mixing with olive oil and Beeswax or a warm compress can be made form the tea for direct Application.
