Lactobacilli acidophilus (Acidophilus) is a beneficial bacteria that aids in the digestion of proteins – a process in which lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, enzymes, B vitamins, and antibiotic substances that inhibit pathogenic (harmful) organisms are produced. Acidophilus have anti fungal properties that Enhances in reducing blood cholesterol levels, digestion, and also enhance the absorption of nutrients.

Acidophilus Usage Directions

Acidophilus products are available in tablets, capsule and powdered forms.
A single strain product with a count of at least 1 billion organisms per gram is usually recommended. It is advisable not to buy a product containing a combination of different strains of lactobacilli, as one organism may be antagonistic to the other.

Acidophilus Sources

Yogurt is the traditional source of beneficial bacteria (Acidophilus). It can be found in large amounts in other fermented dairy products, as well. Supplements containing beneficial bacteria in the form of powder, liquid extract, capsules, or tablets are also available.
